Round 2 open submisson for BÖC show

Round 2 open submisson for BÖC show

Following a highly successful initial open call for artists, Decima are once again calling out to all artists around the world!

Decima International Art Projects are pleased to invite artists' submissions for "So Bring Your Rose and Ring Side Seat" - a major art show scheduled for January 2012.

The American rock band Blue Öyster Cult has long been recognised for their poetic, highly distinctive and subtle musical and textual imagery. In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the release of BÖC's first album back in January 1972, Decima are turning to the band's lyrics to create an inspiring and highly unusual show. If you are not familiar with BÖC, or need your memory jogging, here you are

All you need to do is find any pair of lines in any Blue Öyster Cult song and use these to inspire your work. We would at this stage only like to know which two consecutive lines you have chosen, and a brief proposal of what you want to do. To make this easier, here is a website containing the lyrics to every BÖC song ever written!

The first round of submissions resulted in many highly original ideas from a wide range of talent from the UK and beyond. In view of the proposals we already have on board, we would particularly like to hear from artists working in film/animation, ceramics and sculpture in order to compliment the type of work we already have. Having said this, we will still gladly accept meritorious work from across the range of media.

We have already accepted proposals for the following songs, and would advise that your application will have more chance if it is related to lyrics from other tracks in the band’s anthology.

Burnin’ For You
Cities on Flame
Dancin’ In The Ruins
Dominance and Submission
Don’t Fear The Reaper
Don’t Turn Your Back
Eye of The Hurricane
Fallen Angel
Golden Age of Leather
Goin’ Through The Motions
I Just Like To Be Bad
I’m on the Lamb, But I Ain’t No Sheep
The Old Gods return
Revenge of Vera Gemini
She’s As Beautiful As A Foot
Shooting Shark
This Ain’t The Summer of Love
Transmaniacon MC
True Confessions
Veteran of the Psychic Wars
Wing Wetted Down

Please send your ideas to Please do not send heavy images or attachments - ideally just a few lines of text will do, maybe supported by one image and/or links to pics or videos. I'm afraid we can only contact those artists who are successful.

We anticipate securing a prime exhibition venue for this prestige event in London, and hope to be touring it to New York in the spring of 2012.
